Body Shaming

There was probably more love in freak shows
Than shamelessly telecasting other people’s monstrosities;
One seemed cruel, but was actually kind.
The other seems kind, but is actually very cruel.

For in the one, those afflicted by monstrosities
Were paid handsomely for their differences;
And they got to perform in front of crowds.
Now, we look upon them like a science experiment
Callously watching their monstrosity;
Their misery;
Feeding off of the fear of being like them.
