What is the point of reading the stories
If I believed they weren't true?
One fool wipes out an entire generation
With one foolish string of words.
I clung to my Bible in Sunday School
While my teacher told me it was false.
Solomon said, "There is nothing new under the sun."
Moses said, "The stars are for other peoples."
Jordan Peterson said, "The Bible is riddled with contradictions."
Who among them has faith?
I do.
Jordan, I'd rather you be Richard Dawkins
Than defend the Bible on the principle of it being a fiction.
Really, as a psychological totem
Or Freudian analysis, or Jungian archetype---
All of that is fine, if it moves in the direction of saving faith.
I think you misunderstand the point of the Bible.
It's not to teach good morals,
It's to bring a man into relationship with the Living God
By the evidence of the miracles contained within its text.
You get the Corona of a great public intellectual.
Yet, I get the Laurel of saving knowledge through Jesus Christ.
You'll rot away with your fame and the prison you create for yourself.
I will be free...
As that was the point. To let yourself be destroyed
So I could be free and live and be one with God.
Repent.
Mark 13:51Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. 52Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
