Die Übermensch stands on a lake's edge,
And a drowning man cannot swim or save himself.
"Man, come help me!" cried the drowning man.
"Help yourself, fool, for you have gotten yourself
"Into this predicament. For, only by striving
"And thereby surviving, can you make it in this world."
The drowning man gulped water into his mouth,
And cried out once more, "Friend, I am drowning!
"Save me!" The Übermensch then said,
"If I save you, you will be weak. You must be strong
"And save yourself. For, if you cannot, you will suffer
"In this life, and thereby, men will have to save you
"From drowning every single day, will they not?"
The drowning man said, "I do not want your philosophy
"You fool, only for you to do what is right!"
"What is right!" Cried the Übermensch!
"What is right? What is right?"
The drowning man then cried out,
"To save a poor wretch from a miserable death!"
"I do not think that is right... for if I save you
"You will only drown yourself again.
"I will let you strive to get yourself out of this."
To which, the man drowned. And the Übermensch
Said, "Pity. I could have taught him a great lesson
"If he would have only listened, and saved himself
"And not look to me. Why ought I? Why?"
The Übermensch then frowned, and a sick feeling
Came to the pit of his stomach, realizing
He had just murdered a man.
He pushed it way down into his belly, and ate it.
And reasoned with himself not to feel remorse.
Mark 13:51Jesus saith unto them, Have ye understood all these things? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. 52Then said he unto them, Therefore every scribe which is instructed unto the kingdom of heaven is like unto a man that is an householder, which bringeth forth out of his treasure things new and old.
