Apology

I have found many truths
Working on my work today...
A moment spent in vain, I may
Not have found, I may also have
Lost my very way.

Paul, a man who works
Is he only one who works if paid?
Or, is a thief justified:
No, for to Thessalonica you have said
This is not so. Not to Defraud,
And such a one will get recompense from God.

I work all day, ministering truth
And all night my every hour...
I do not want fame nor fortune
But to have my work to help the poor
So that they never sour.

Yet such contention it shall bring
When all day I study for God's Peace...
I eat with trembling, my reduced meal
But I still eat my feast.
For I work, but how can I know
If my work will ever show?
I work all day, and every night...
I truthfully cannot make flight;
For a meek man am I,
Who will starve, when winter's nigh.
No, I work every day
So, may I earn a holy wage.
