The Foolish Virgins

Trim the lamps, oh wise virgins
With Olive and Castor oils;
The foolish virgins are low on oil---
They are sinning.

So, the foolish virgins are told
By the wise, "Go out and find
"Your own oil; you will not get ours."
So they do.

They sail the seas, and hunt whales
By violence, to make a rancid oil
To burn in their lamps.
The wise entered.

The foolish stand outside
And Christ says, "Thy savor
"Is of the world, and by violence.
"This is not the faith as it once were taught."
