The Plight of the Poor

A good child, loved by his mother,
Even the best child ever born,
She was so poor, she came to the tavern
With her fiance, and was ready to deliver.
The tax man was in town, and wanted
To get them recorded in the census.
The woman and her fiance
Were told, "You can't stay in here
"You don't have enough money
"But I see the woman's with child
"So here, I'll let you sleep out in the barn."
So, the child was born, and placed in a manger;
Three kings came from far, Eastern Magi
And gave him a little nugget of gold
And two bottles of Essential Oils.
And they leave all the same,
And the little child cries in the manger.
The tax man comes, and Mary signs
It, and so does Joseph, from Nazareth
And they just had their baby.
