Alaila

Swift runner, so strong
You had one moment of rage
And committed the sin of Cain,
But awoke, and there was no murder.

Now you hide it, and I understand why.
Rest assured, I understand why.
We sometimes don't know what we're capable of
Until we do it, and a lifetime's reflection
Gets us back on the path...

Sometimes it is best that there were no consequences
For a once and done misdemeanor;
For we do not know it is in ourselves
Until we realize it
And then we must live with the fear of ourselves
Until we reach the shores of Zion;
Either broken into, and in flames, or flourishing like the well nourished field.
