Willows Send a Strong Scent; A Tanka and Haiku

Willows send strong scent

To waters beneath their roots.

If the willow’s boughs

Splintered into a thousand

Trees, the rivers would run dry.

Therefore, success hurts

The one who’s gained the world;

Plant one tree a bough.

My Literary Theory

Every single book

Requires a different kind

Of analysis.

Do read a book as it was

Intended to be read. Please.

The Magic

All the magic gone,

All I can see, clearly now,—

All was a daydream.

I still believe in Jesus.

He’s the only miracle.

Nineveh is Fallen; Tanka

With his feet on mounds

He walked;—on two sides were walls.—

Walls from a nightmare.

He published peace, so may know;—

Ashur broke Eons ago.

A Tanka

If your reader can

Sum up your entire book

In a few phrases,

Then you have successfully

Communicated your thought.

To See the Dream Nigh; A Tanka

To see the dream nigh
And to know providence’ hand;—
My hands are faulty.
So much worse when others stop
The strong builder’s wise levy.
