Idolatry

The Postmodern lie is that truth is subjective---
It is even a lie that this is what Postmodernism is.
For, Postmodernism does not reject truth...
Rather, it assumes that all have found a truth.

Such it is, that Postmodernism practiced today
Is idolatry. Some find their solitary truth
Like the desire for a good harvest
Their fear of death
Or the prosperous flowing of the rivers
And they ritualize it
Basing their entire fetish upon this truth.

Diana is the goddess of the hunt and fellowship between man and beast.
Baal the god of fertility.
Hapi the god of the Nile's flood cycles, which brought fertility.
Robin DiAngelo the goddess of race.
Karl Marx the god of equity.
Malcolm Michaels Jr. the god of androgyny.

And we worship these, each capturing a certain truth.
There is a beautiful relationship between a man and his beast.
There is a desire to be fertile.
There is a cycle which governs the Nile, and all agriculture is dependent on it.
There is race.
There is a need for equity.
That Jeremiah and Isaiah were called the Daughter of Zion because they both had women's hearts.

Yet, each idol persists to overbearing truth.
Like Confucians and Mozis who warred over their discovered truths
Weaponizing the Fifth and Eleventh commandment,
Where each faction shed blood for their truth.

It took men with unfathomable genius to discover basic moral truth.
Each one compartmentalized and also surrounded by lies.
So much so that two philosophers, having found a truth
Would warp everything around that truth
And fight to the death.

This is what idolatry is.
