The Trail of Tears

The Cherokee warrior and his family
Were pushed by the U.S. army out West.
Broken, and battered, and forced to trek
Like the Armenians of not so long ago.

Four thousand men, women and children died.
One hundred thousand were forced to diaspora.
And again and again and again it happens:

White men do it to Indians,
Black men do it to whites,
Asian men do it to Muslims
And Turks do it to Christians.

The absolute worst of humanity
Which all races are capable of.

The Foolish Virgins

Trim the lamps, oh wise virgins

I am no prophet.

Form leads to peace, and tranquility...
Productive people doing productive things.

Function leads to war, and strife;

Our modern era, wanting Function over Form
Produces pirates, who do but cannot know.

The Education of the Peasant

The sage looked upon the little student, and told him, "Memorize this cant, and it shall tell you all the world."

The Purpose of Mythology

Mythology's purpose is not to tell us 
The workings of the gods, but to tell us

Meditation on the Quran

Who has guarded me? If not the LORD?
