The Wet Nurse

There was a strange politics
In the days of old, when baby
Formula wasn't invented yet.
Many women couldn't breastfeed
So, they'd hire a dam to feed their babies.
Some wouldn't breastfeed because
Their class or status put it beneath them.
But the fact is, someone's teats
Were needed to nourish an infant.
Thank God for Baby Formula.

Curiously, someone made an argument
For abortion with this in mind...
I think without baby formula
It'd be compulsory to feed the infant
Any way you knew how...
Which, this politics was strange
Because if you can't, then you'd need
Another woman to do the service you couldn't.
This was the politics for nearly 6,000 years.

The Modern Brat

Went to college, learned Critical Race Theory
Or some other useless thing,
Destroyed the Western Tradition
And mocked their country's prosperity.
Then are mad when they can't find a job
And need to move back in with their parents.
They spent 80k on what they can get much better
On the internet, with the right sort of guidance.

I get that we shouldn't have to go to college
To have a career---I totally get that.
But, understand the other side.
Some of us are destined to work McDonald's
As a cashier, or Walmart as a cart gatherer.
And I get that large companies are paying their employees
Low prices, and are forcing the bulk of Americans
To risk debt, or be homeless.

But don't you think the lack of prosperity
Also has to do with you?

Battle of Cannae

50,000 Romans lay dead,
Because you, Varro, fled.
Paullus died in Carthaginian pincors,
Where Hannibal yet again
In craft, broke his center rank
And deliberately led the bulk of your forces
Into a well designed trap.

Had Varro rode against
Hannibal's Cavalry
And had those Numidian Infantry
Not laid in wait behind Hannibal's Lines,---
In their hidden columns amidst the dust,---
You may have died too.
Perhaps you need flee.
So Rome is not without a governor.

You marched the largest army in Roman History
And later, would the sun darken and shields sweat blood
On the battlefield, when Fabius and Marcellus
Shield and Sword, would finally defeat you.
And Scipio would land the fatal blow
In Spain and Africa, recalling Hannibal the Terror of Rome.

Übermensch

Die Übermensch stands on a lake's edge,
And a drowning man cannot swim or save himself.
"Man, come help me!" cried the drowning man.
"Help yourself, fool, for you have gotten yourself
"Into this predicament. For, only by striving
"And thereby surviving, can you make it in this world."
The drowning man gulped water into his mouth,
And cried out once more, "Friend, I am drowning!
"Save me!" The Übermensch then said,
"If I save you, you will be weak. You must be strong
"And save yourself. For, if you cannot, you will suffer
"In this life, and thereby, men will have to save you
"From drowning every single day, will they not?"
The drowning man said, "I do not want your philosophy
"You fool, only for you to do what is right!"
"What is right!" Cried the Übermensch!
"What is right? What is right?"
The drowning man then cried out,
"To save a poor wretch from a miserable death!"
"I do not think that is right... for if I save you
"You will only drown yourself again.
"I will let you strive to get yourself out of this."
To which, the man drowned. And the Übermensch
Said, "Pity. I could have taught him a great lesson
"If he would have only listened, and saved himself
"And not look to me. Why ought I? Why?"
The Übermensch then frowned, and a sick feeling
Came to the pit of his stomach, realizing
He had just murdered a man.
He pushed it way down into his belly, and ate it.
And reasoned with himself not to feel remorse.
