But cannot find anywhere.

Should all acquaintance be forgot
And e'ry a heart do sag

And all guns hammer their tacks

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And the nation come under attack

Should our acquaintance be forgot
And men forget this song
Should our acquaintance be forgot
The days seem ever so long.

But if all acquaintance be forgot
And e'ry a heart do sag
