Why My Intelligence Made Me Believe in Jesus

I think my intelligence made me keep my faith. Here's why.

1. Every atheist I've ever met, said morality isn't objective, but subjective. I never observed that in real life. I always thought right and wrong were self evident, and it followed a logical rule of creating the most amount of peace for individuals and the wider society.

2. I just learned recently, that even ontology can be questioned by the best Atheist philosophers. So, the very aspect of there being anything, seems logically contingent on there being a god of some sort. And I see there is being, so I don't know how it begins to be questioned.

And I never made those connections, and never would. It's just what the best atheist philosophers thought.

But, I did try to prove Universal Truth, and failed. When I was an atheist, I wanted to prove it, because I observed it, but I failed... I couldn't. And so I just naturally said, "Well, if I see universal truth, but can't prove it without God, then which God is the true God?"

And there I looked at all the different religious traditions, and only one had a real instance in history where you could look at Archeology and History and see it. And that's Christianity. There's a weird claim, in Christianity and Judaism, that God interacted with the world, so if He did, I should find evidence of it. And I did. Lots of it. Despite what atheists would claim, there's very valid reasons to believe that God did interact with the world in the archeological and historical record. And there's those traces, and it seems to be the God of Christianity.

And I also knew God had to be perfect in goodness, and there's only one like that, too. Both Old and New Testament produce a testable ethics, that actually works. No other ethics has worked like it, and I feel "Good" is so self evident in the life of Jesus Christ, and His teachings, and the teachings of His followers, that I believe in it. I don't think any other religion produced a sound ethical philosophy, not even Buddhism. At the last, Buddhism has some solid ethics, but rather views life tragically, where I think Christ affirmed desire and pleasure, and that seems to also be engrained in human psychology.
