The Curse of the Sloth

Once Upon a Time, there was a poet.
He was a sloth, and held his job,
But wanted to be rich.
Thus, he wrote his poems
To have the wealth enough
To have an orgy every day.

There was another poet,
He was meek, and could do intellectual work.
He wanted to have enough wealth
To write his poems,
And to have enough wealth
To maintain a wife and children.

The slothful poet, though,
Was published first,
And the publishers didn't want him,
But from his annoyance, they sighed and said,
"If you truly want this,
"The greatest poet in the world
"Will have to fail. He will be put in prison
"And tortured to death.
"For the world will be lost
"For it has lost his reason."

The Sloth sighed, and said,
"I don't care about him.
"Let him rot."
Thus, the Sloth was made a millionaire
And ate and drank, and had sex to his heart's content.

The other poet, became a master,
But, his songs were denied.
Thus, the whole world turned good art for bad
And bad art for good,
And thus, the master poet
Was told, "You're dishonoest
"And not as smart as you claim.
"Therefore, into the dungeon,
"You prideful man!"
And so they did,
Where they drew and quartered him
And kept him barely alive
For 30 years.

That is modern day's morality.
