42 Additional Proverbs

1. Do not trust yourself with a selfish man, to do your business. But a wise counselor, tell him the truth, so he can help.

2. For if you are not honest, you do not escape the danger, and a willing friend will fight for you, but you must tell him the whole truth.

3. Be crafty in business, but do not scorn a true friend. For you never know, he may see the danger coming from the hills, and warn you. But, if you lie about your business, he shall not know when or how to defend you.

4. No man knows your thoughts, no not even a prophet. He gets impressions in his mind, but who knows if that is what is truly being thought? Therefore, be honest at all times.

5. Weep for a dear friend who dies, and set a watch over their house. Good shall come to you.

6. Do not be as the hypocrites, and loathe your neighbor, or devise mischief against him. Who knows? He may be what will save you from falling: if you wound him, you shall fall.

7. The woman went to the church, and was denied helpers. Why is this in the land? So the land mourns. One man can only do so much good. It takes a house full of friends, to keep from falling.

8. It was asked about angels, and the wise man told it all... it was not much. We do not know, and God likes to keep it that way.

9. The craft of the scribe is as the craft of the potter. He shall be fed, if he does his work verily. However, he shall be remembered, but so shall the excellent craft of the Potter, too.

13. The beautiful works are a blessing in the land, and by it the people keep happy. Without it, they are given to too much toil.

14. When beauty is scorned, so is love. And in but four generations there is much poverty.

15. Barbarians come into a land when it is finally at ruin. However, they may revive the old ways, therefore, be careful to watch.

16. I've seen Barbarian lords do much good, and create great civilizations; likewise, I have seen them make many years of sorrow. However, keep civilization on the righteous path, and there shall not be barbarians at the gate.

17. The Sages appear when there is much folly, and are usually among the most unwise and selfish when young.

18. Listen to the Sage's advice, for they have seen and witnessed it all, so you can be maintained by their wise words.

19. Do not forsake a Sage. And do not forsake a wise man. Wisdom is bound as ornaments upon a man's hand, and it binds to them, and makes sound the world for many years.

20. I first had seen, the folly begins with scoffing scholars.

21. The conscience of man is fragile, and a Sage was a great sinner, who said, "I do not like the ways in which society has tortured me, and made me cruel. I shall find the right way, only give me a teacher and I shall learn."

22. Christian sagacity is mercy under abuse, and forgiveness under accusation, and false imprisonment where there was no crime being committed. The Christian does not resist.

23. Many fall off the path of Christianity for this reason, that it demands we love our abusers. Not merely avoid them, but to bear their reproaches in hopes of turning a true enemy into a friend.

24. I have seen dishonest men made honest, and honest men made dishonest. I have seen the righteous suffer, and the wicked prosper. I have seen the good people in fear, and the wicked proudly exalted. Which is why I believe in judgment to come.

25. There was no sorrow in me when I was a bad man. Then there was sorrow in me when I realized I was a bad man. The latter rains, the LORD restores your joy like the Morning, and the heavy sigh is turned to laughter.

26. A father is a blessing, though he treat you cruely. Bear with patience and make his heart happy. And then your heart will be happy, too.

29. A friend is a blessing upon the Earth. Though you separate and say "My friend is my worst enemy," consider, the crafty man will make his enemy into his most stalwart friend. And a crafty man treats an enemy as if a friend, so he has none on the day of destruction.

30. If you make an enemy, quickly stay out of his way. If he marches, move yourself away from his path. He may forget all about you, and reap destruction somewhere else.

31. Respect your ally, and respect your enemy. Respect those who have no opinion about you, one way or another. And you shall be made wise. Your allies shall be all, for you shall have gained no enemies.

32. Judge no one, for as you judge others, so shall they see you. They shall see your shame, and see you as unworthy, and untrustworthy. If you bring a friend to court, then what will you do with an enemy? You shall be desolate at the end, and all shall be bastioned against you.

33. If your friend brings you to court, or even an enemy, give them what they want. What is it to you? You cannot keep it. Perhaps the judge will be a friend, after all.

34. What belongs to a man, is his. Seek no means, legal or otherwise, to obtain it. It is their right, and you are a curse for trying to gather what another has bound.

35. If you wish to make a slave, then steal from a man and then by legal means justify the theft. Yet, what will that man have in the end, you have taken all his substance? You have shed the blood of the poor, by taking his property.

36. The generation of the proud and slothful rob all men and share their property in common. And when they are all impoverished and ruled over by cruel Lords, none can help them.

37. There is a reason for war and that is good economics. For liberty, property and safety wars are fought. Slay men in these times, for the Law makes it right.

38. When a nation's children cannot know peace, the nation is broken by an invader. The children are dashed to pieces against the rocks, and the righteous are dashed to pieces, too.

39. Mourn the loss of innocence. Do not be like the ignorant, who think the virgin should be deflowered, or the sheltered should be scarred.

40. Peace reigns with the righteous, and torment with the wicked.

41. God watches mankind, and ponders their ways. He rarely does a thing, but moves human agents through their kings.

42. The wicked blame a Good God for their suffering, but consider, what is there but suffering without Him?
